Hotelier and Sustainable Hospitality Advocate Hervé Houdré Headlined the Association’s
Sustainable Hospitality Council Luncheon on June 21st at the InterContinental Miami
Miami Beach, FL (June 26, 2012) – In an effort to educate hotel and allied members on sustainability practices, the Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association’s (GMBHA) Sustainable Hospitality Council held a luncheon at the InterContinental Miami featuring “Sustainable Hospitality Advocate” Hervé Houdré, Regional Director and General Manager of InterContinental New York Barclay.
More than 200 guests from Miami’s hospitality industry attended the event and learned the strategies and benefits of becoming eco-friendly and how commitment to the local community is the most important factor of being sustainable, according to Mr. Houdré.
Following the presentation, Nancy Loman Scanlon, Associate Professor, Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, moderated a Q & A session between Mr. Houdré, Robert Hill, General Manager, InterContinental Miami, and the audience. Miami-based and LEED certified EasyGrass®, which provides top quality artificial grass products and installation, sponsored this year’s luncheon.
